- : Hello,

- : package have been $150 or so. I'm wondering...
- :
- : 1) If it is worth the money to upgrade?
-
- Mmm... probably. You will get datatypes, the latest version of AmigaGuide,
- locale support, CD support on ROM (I think), improved graphics functions e.g.
- pen allocation, and many other things I've forgotten..
-
- : 2) Briefly, why or why not?
-
- I think I've answered that one.
-
- : 3) Where is the cheapest place to purchase it.
-
- Don't know.
-
- : 4) What exactly is "softkicking"?
-
- Soft-kicking means loading the Kickstart ROM image into RAM. All early A3000s
- worked this way, and I believe any machine with an MMU can do this properly.
- Machines without MMUs have to use relocation information as well, and the ROM
- image can be corrupted because it is unprotected.
-
- : Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
